Calming Down

I know that all of you out there who have been hoping for pictures of Kayin are wondering why I am not posting about her...something very scary happened in our household tonight. We are actually still trying to calm down from it all.

To put things in a nutshell and not go into too much detail. Our neighbor (who, we found out later was on something) continued to bang on our front door throughout the early evening. Well, we were downstairs and yet another bang on the door. Justin went upstairs and told him he would talk with him outside (not locking the door behind him). This man proceeded to barge in our house and open the door!!! I was coming up the stairs with Kayin and this was the breaking point. I was now scared and wasn't sure what to do other than try and keep Kayin, Harper and Justin calm. We called our other neighbor and he made a report to the "non-emergency" number. As Justin was on the phone with the "non-emergency" hotline, the man was at our door again screaming, "Let me in, let me in! I'm scared!" Justin, my knight in shining armour looked through our glass on the storm door and said, "Man, I'm not letting you in! I'm scared!!" Within minutes, the LPD was at our door.

Well, in the long run, after about 2 minutes of banging on his door by the Lincoln Police Department, he opened his door as calm as could be, then BOLTED down the street. As one of the officers put it as he was writing up the report, he will be locked up for quite some time!!

I guess he has quite the history and we now know that if it happens again, to call 911 IMMEDIATELY!!!

Blessed

We were blessed to have Justin's parents and brother's family here for the holidays. It was great spending some time with all of them. We were able to take C, A, and the boys on a tour of Lincoln and they really enjoyed the stadium. They were totally impressed!! Kayin got to play with her cousins and she became "one of the boys" for the week.

He makes me laugh

While we were in Grand Island for Christmas, we caught a picture of Kayin with Uncle Joshy. Is this a cute picture or what??!!

Santa's Little Helper

We have a tradition at my Grandparent's house in Geneva. All the presents under the tree are passed around until everybody has at least one. Kayin was a little elf helping this year (although she found a couple to unwrap)!! This was the first year in four years that all of the cousins, aunts, uncles, grandkids, and great-grandkids were together!! We had a blast!! And come to think of it, I don't think we did our tradition of family pictures!! Todd, I guess we may have to rig something up on PhotoShop!

Big Girl

Well, not that I want to admit this, but our lil' dolly is growing up (and way TOO FAST I might add)!!! Over the last week, we made the decision to switch out her crib to her big girl bed and add some new decorations. Kayin LOVES her new bed and has transitioned quite easily. We continue to do the same bedtime routine and the first night I was with her after her story, she looked at me, gave me a kiss, and said, "Go away mommy, I sweepy". As I covered her up and gave her a kiss I got a little teary eyed. It seems just like yesterday that we found out we were expecting. She has really grown up the last couple of months! Thanks to Aunt Mimi who came across some new things at our favorite store here in Lincoln, Kids Stuff!!

This is a CLASSIC!!

Not only did we have Christmas this week, but we also had Maggie's Bridal Shower. Kayin discovered my sunglasses and her binky in my purse!! Again, watch out fashion magazines!!
