Nibbles Cafe

Here we are with Kevin, Shannon and Brianna and The Nibble's Cafe.

Kayin and Brianna have the technique, don't they??!!

Here is Kayin being the conductor in the "pod" with the train set.
Brianna and Kayin enjoying some time at the "pod" with the chalkboard wall.

Here they are in the kitchen "pod" playing with the puppies.

While we were visiting with Shannon and Kevin we decided we all would try a new "restaurant" in Wheeling called "The Nibbles Cafe". The concept is amazing and has the potential to become big!! I kept thinking over the weekend if this would be a place that would go over in Lincoln. Basically, it's a kid friendly restaurant with one side being the orderng/eating and the other side with about 7 "pods" or areas designed for social play skills. Every day, the owner tries to get in an act, whether it be musical, drama, interactive, whatever, but the girls had a blast!! Who would have thought to paint one entire wall with chalkboard paint and have kids go at it with their creativity??!!

Just Me and My Friend

This past weekend we were fortunate enough to squeeze in a little time with Shannon, Kevin and Brianna. Shannon and I were both pregnant and the girls are about 3 weeks apart. They had a great time playing with each other and for some reason, they were FASCINATED with Beraka's dog cage!!! I have a feeling there will be lots more play dates whenever we go to visit Arlington Heights!

Calming Down

I know that all of you out there who have been hoping for pictures of Kayin are wondering why I am not posting about her...something very scary happened in our household tonight. We are actually still trying to calm down from it all.

To put things in a nutshell and not go into too much detail. Our neighbor (who, we found out later was on something) continued to bang on our front door throughout the early evening. Well, we were downstairs and yet another bang on the door. Justin went upstairs and told him he would talk with him outside (not locking the door behind him). This man proceeded to barge in our house and open the door!!! I was coming up the stairs with Kayin and this was the breaking point. I was now scared and wasn't sure what to do other than try and keep Kayin, Harper and Justin calm. We called our other neighbor and he made a report to the "non-emergency" number. As Justin was on the phone with the "non-emergency" hotline, the man was at our door again screaming, "Let me in, let me in! I'm scared!" Justin, my knight in shining armour looked through our glass on the storm door and said, "Man, I'm not letting you in! I'm scared!!" Within minutes, the LPD was at our door.

Well, in the long run, after about 2 minutes of banging on his door by the Lincoln Police Department, he opened his door as calm as could be, then BOLTED down the street. As one of the officers put it as he was writing up the report, he will be locked up for quite some time!!

I guess he has quite the history and we now know that if it happens again, to call 911 IMMEDIATELY!!!

Blessed

We were blessed to have Justin's parents and brother's family here for the holidays. It was great spending some time with all of them. We were able to take C, A, and the boys on a tour of Lincoln and they really enjoyed the stadium. They were totally impressed!! Kayin got to play with her cousins and she became "one of the boys" for the week.

He makes me laugh

While we were in Grand Island for Christmas, we caught a picture of Kayin with Uncle Joshy. Is this a cute picture or what??!!
